Ronald L. Cothran was selected as the Interim District 8 Commissioner during the Caddo Commission's January 12th Special Meeting. As a citizen of Shreveport and specifically District 8, Ronald L. Cothran has 38 plus years of experience in leadership positions to include 23 in the military and the remaining in the civilian sector. Cothran has served in numerous leadership positions including the senior Medical Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Sergeant Major (SGM/E‐9) of the 10the Mountain Division‐Fort Drum, New York, Director of the Dayton Public Schools Transportation and Principal at Mound Street Academies (MSA) a school for Urban High School Learning Students.
Cothran managed multi‐million‐dollar budgets in the both the military and civilian sectors, ensuring line item and equipment needs were met. Additionally, he worked with and supervised a minimum of 25 ‐2,000 plus people.
Cothran's goal is to combine his community involvement, civilian education, military education and experiences in living in other cities and countries and use that to serve as the Caddo Parish Commissioner, District 10.
